Willis Melbourne
Artillery was appointed by Willis to undertake a detailed brief, which would then form the foundation for the selected accommodation from the three shortlisted buildings.
With roots dating to 1828, Willis operates on every continent with more than 17,000 employees in over 400 offices. It is famous for being the insurer for the Titanic, Moon Buggy and the Royal Family.
Willis has established Global Standards (GS). The GS along with the history and the embracing of “big”, open and transparent became the brief.
The planning revolved around the communal and support spaces being located in the centre of the narrow “L” floor plate.
This resulted in excellent natural light and connection to views for all workstations in the open plan.
The history was represented in black and white images printed on stone or carved in wood. The values subtly are voiced on the angled columns of the 1960s building.
