Alfred Hospital – Hugh Trumble Room
The Hugh Trumble room was designed to be frequented only by doctors and be used as an area to relax. The existing condition of the room resulted in the space being underutilised by patrons. The room was last refurbished in the 1960’s
Artillery was engaged by Alfred Health to refurbish the space providing stakeholders with a dual function space, firstly it needed to maintain its current purpose and secondly to be an ideal area to meet with sponsors and possible partners to support The Alfred Health Foundation.
Our approach was to identify opportunities for reuse, maintain a sense of history while providing occupants with a more functional and contemporary space.
Through the reuse and refurbishment of timber panelling furniture, fixtures and existing structure we were able to maintaining the historic dignity of the space while providing a more contemporary space to suit patron and Foundation requirements.
